Gender inequality according to the Khagrachari youth clubs

One of the activities in my training today was to do a short play on the inequality between boys / girls or men / women. This was suggested by the organizing club, Sassna. We asked every club to prepare a short one or two minute play. This is the result! But first the picture of my whole training group, it’s a though crowd:

The whole group!

Going to the picnic (or not) – Sassna

The son can go on the picnic, his sister clearly not!

Unequal pay – Mrengmaong

The male receives double the salary of the female.

Inheritance – Nabin Smriti Sansad

The inheritance will go to the son, almost all of it.

Females used as household slaves – Roabong

You don't use my daughter as your servant!

Opportunity to education – Hill Star

The daughter does the dishes, the son gets to study.

Lazy males – Young Star

The lazy husband doesn't cook or clean while the wife has a full-time job.

* Disclaimer: I don’t imply that these are all the differences, the most important ones, are existing in every household or don’t exist in other countries. This is just what my youth clubs choose to act out.
